Bowmore devil's cask batch 1,2,3
Bowmore Devil’s Cask batch #1 was released in October 2013 and quickly sold out. Following the success of the first release a second followed exactly a year later in October 2014, as expected the second release sold out faster than the first. Only 6,000 each batch were released, containing whisky matured exclusively for 10 years in first fill sherry casks.
October 2015 saw the third batch released, this one had no stated age and there was no total number mentioned.
Bowmore 1989 23 years
The Bowmore distillery was the first registered Islay distillery founded in 1779. Clearly, they know how to be experts at their craft. Islay is known for briney, peated whiskies, and they do an excellent job of marrying that salty smoke with sweetness.
Bowmore 23 was distilled in 1989 and aged in port casks until 2013. This whisky comes in at 50.8% abv.
Bowmore 30 years
Distilled in 1989, this rare single malt whisky has been carefully nurtured for three decades in our finest Sherry hogsheads and Bourbon barrels. Bottled at a cask strength of 45.3%, this 30-Year-Old is a celebration of Bowmore’s rich fruity and subtly smoky style. With only 2580 bottles available in 2020, Bowmore 30-Year-Old inspired by the terrain that surrounds the Bowmore Distillery and the legendary landscape that defines our whisky. Capturing the art of time, this whisky takes cues from the detailed markings on driftwood and the refined polish of sea glass, reflecting its eternal connection with Islay .
Bowmore 25 years
A 25 year old from the Bowmore distillery aged in American bourbon and Spanish sherry casks. The sherry influence combines wonderfully with the coastal, smoky distillery style to create a sublime aged single malt.
Bowmore 26 Year Old Wine Cask
This is the middle child of Bowmore’s “Vinter’s” series, which includes a Manzanilla sherry finish, French wine barrels, and port casks. From the distillery: “The second in the Vintner’s Trilogy, Bowmore® 26 Years Old Wine Matured, spends the first 13 years in ex-bourbon barrels before a second maturation of 13 years in wine barriques, developing a burnt amber color. Redcurrant jam, camphor oil and cherry pie intermingle with earthy smoke on the nose, developing into spiced oak, tropical fruits such as papaya and mango and a honeyed sweetness with the addition of water. A full-bodied whisky, on the palate the flavors develop into oak spiced smoke and rich dark chocolate with a long finish and a hint of salt typical of Bowmore. Bowmore’s 26 Years Old Wine Matured is bottled at cask strength (48.7% ABV).”
Bowmore 26 Year Old Wine Cask
The Bowmore 27 Year Old Port Cask of the Vintner’s Trilogy is meticulously double matured with a luxurious balance of sweet, spice, salt and peat smoke from the home to the world’s oldest Scotch maturation warehouse, the legendary No. 1 Vaults.
Double matured, first for 13 years in ex-bourbon barrels, then for 14 years in port pipes resulting in a deep mahogany and perfectly balanced liquid with notes of sweet, spice, salt and peat smoke.
Non-chill filtered and bottled at cask strength to preserve the full flavour.
